CONCEALED FROM EYES

Parables and their secrets.

Parables are always fascinating. Parables have something familiar and still they keep raising questions. They pull in deeper sections of the soul. It is amazing that new elements are still being discovered in them. After all during many centuries the Bible has already been studied intensively by thousands of scholars and  believers.

I would very much like to invite those interested in parables to read my surprising discoveries by independent study of the Bible.

I studied a series of parables from the book ‘Luke’ free from prejudice. To my amazement the text opened up on several levels.

The FIRST LEVEL concerns, as usual, the text.  It gives quite some indications to approach that series of parables as a coherent entity. That’s a new element.

I discovered that Luke implemented symbolical numbers on the SECOND LEVEL. That’s why apparently unimportant concepts are being accentuated. That’s innovative.

The THIRD LEVEL is even more surprising, but unfortunately responsible for quite some prejudices. It concerns the SEFIROT TREE from the KABBALAH from later years and it is generally assumed that Luke could not possibly have been acquainted with it. But I believe I can prove that Luke did know the SEFIROT TREE and also used it. With that information he hands over the key that provides access to the meaning of those concepts that can not be explained on the level of the text and of the numbers.

Apparently these three levels are essential to be able to have a better understanding of  phrases in the Bible concerning these parables.

The parables are about the essence of being human; about being one entity, becoming one entity: conquering one’s own discord and chaos.

When we look inside ourselves we often see a certain conflict between whatever we would like to feel and what we really feel. Or, your emotions do not agree with what our logical reasoning says.  This is also labeled as duality.

The question arises whether you can get rid of that duality completely. Again and again you’ll find yourself in new situations. It is as if each time you want to recover your balance again.

At least it is good if we want to aspire to that entity.

What is it all about then?

In the story of Creation man is  made from dust. Then God blows the breath into the nose of that material human being. You can look upon that breath as the breath of life which keeps you alive here during this existence. There is also an element in it that says: That’s the Divine element in the human being.

In the course of life people lose the notion of that element. People focuse so much on their job, their family. They forget that their core is Divine, a source from which they live.

The parables deal with the way how to recover that.

God is spirit, without shape. The Divine element in the human being is also spirit and without shape. As God is indefinite and indefinable the same applies for our spirit, our consciousness.

Luke found a profound and smart solution to indicate that in one single word.

In Dutch that word is translated with “Wie” (Who), “Welke” (Which) and “Iemand” (Somebody).

Who, among you, that owns a hundred sheep …. then you don’t know who that is. Which woman who has ten coins …… then you don’t know who that is. Somebody had two sons …..then you don’t know who that is.

Luke uses the same word for all persons, TIS (Greek word!), that’s why, to my mind, he indicates that those persons have the same identity; indefinite and  indefinable. The same goes for our consciousness.

We can develop our consciousness by gaining experience and by learning.

You’ll find an example for that in the parables.

There we find a series of the numbers of 10.000-100-10-2--1 First of all the number 10.000 is mentioned. After that  100 sheep, 10 coins, 2 sons and 1 steward  are mentioned. I discovered that this descending series of numbers is equivalent to getting less attached to your possessions.

Whenever getting less attached to your possessions (that could be anything: your ideas, your money, your reputation, everything that keeps you away from them; if you learn to put that into perspective.

The more successful in being able to do that, the more feeling you will have for unity and entity.

In 2004 my book  “Concealed from eyes” ( Voor Ogen Verborgen) was published. During readings, in debates and in correspondence up to now people above all reacted in showed surprise. Several times it was even appreciated as a revelation; as new life in the old and very much familiar texts.

By mid of 2006 I finalized an improved draft of my book. In this draft several revisions and supplements have been introduced. For this draft I split every possible hair and in the chapters 2 (tower) and 7 (coins) some new “discoveries” have been incorporated. You can download here the  complete text of this improved draft of the book  “Concealed from eyes”(Voor Ogen Verborgen).

I recorded a  summary of the most important subjects from my book and some supplements in the spring of 2006 in my booklet “Lucas code” with the subtitle “Knowing the coherence” (Het kennen van de samenhang).

In the autumn of 2006 I finalized the manuscript of the last booklet of this triptych: “No longer a slave” (Geen slaaf meer) with the subtitle “Becoming one entity” (Eén-worden). It starts with the second parable of the series and it describes the process in order to reach the final goal: Becoming one entity.

Together these three books provide a complete picture of these parables. Who studies them, will be able to get the idea that he can follow the fascinating spiritual path for development in great detail, like it was worded in the parables.

With the help of other experts I only modestly embarked upon my investigation. I expect the interpretation of the discovered data to be completed and studied in depth. I look upon my discoveries as the outcome of pioneering work in which I couldn’t fall back on the results of previous research. So there is still a lot to be discovered.
